THE LEGENDARYFlame GrilledSINCE 1986
Why Oporto?

Oporto began in 1986 as a small charcoal chicken shop in North Bondi, Sydney, opened by António Cerqueira. He named it after his favourite football club, FC Porto. Close to four decades on, the idea at the centre of the menu has barely moved: Portuguese style chicken cooked over flame, then brushed with a basting you choose yourself.

Four bastings set the heat. Lemon & Herb keeps things bright and mild, Original Chilli brings the classic kick, New Portuguese BBQ trades heat for barbecue flavour, and Extremo Picante is the hottest on the board. Then there is the Bondi Burger at from $10.00, named for the beachside suburb where the whole story started.

Flame grilled in North Bondi since 1986. Basted your way.

More than a meal, it's
a flame grilled ritual.

It starts with the chicken. A Quarter Chicken at $9.50 covers a solo lunch, a Half Chicken at $13.50 handles a serious appetite, and a Whole Chicken at $20.00 goes in the middle of the table for the family. Each one takes the basting you pick, from gentle Lemon & Herb to Extremo Picante.

Then come the sides. Chips at from $4.50 and Spicy Rice at from $4.50 cost the same, yet the rice comes in at from 970 kJ against from 1,531 kJ for the chips. That gap adds up across a full order, and both sit happily next to any piece of chicken on the menu.

Sauce is where people get particular. Oporto's sauce families run through Original Chilli, Prego, Garlic, Mayo and O Sauce, and the cheapest item on the whole menu is a Prego Dipping Sauce at $1.50. Grab two pots and settle the argument over which one wins with your basting.

The clock matters too. Breakfast runs until 11am at stores that serve it, the Late Night Menu kicks in from 9pm, and the hours between belong to burgers, rappas and bowls. A Pulled Chicken Bowl at $16.80 or a Chicken Rappa at $12.50 sorts a desk lunch without the mess of a full box.

Great food. Smarter choices.
That's the Oporto way.

Every item here lists kJ first and Calories second, the same order printed on Australian food labels. The reference intake for an average adult is 8,700 kJ a day, so a Half Chicken at 2,481 kJ or an Otropo Burger at from 2,971 kJ reads very differently once you hold it against that total.

Small swaps add up. A plain Quarter Chicken at 1,238 kJ sits well under the Quarter Chicken Box at 4,042 kJ, and Spicy Rice over Chips saves energy at the same price. The kJ & Calorie Counter totals a whole order as you build it.

Price works the same way. The O Burger at from $10.20 and the Bondi Burger at from $10.00 sit close together, while the Otropo Burger at from $11.50 costs a little more and carries 710 Cal. With both numbers side by side, the pick gets easier.

Know the numbers, then order what you love.

Good chicken, no guesswork.
Just gotta go, Oporto!

Oporto's menu is built around one cooking method. Chicken goes over the flame, then picks up Lemon & Herb, Original Chilli, New Portuguese BBQ or Extremo Picante. That idea sits at the heart of the Flame Grilled Chicken range, from a single Quarter Chicken up to a Whole Chicken.

This guide puts the whole menu in one place. All 101 items sit across 16 categories, each with price, kJ and Calories, plus allergen notes wherever Oporto's published chart lists the item.

Prices can vary by store, so treat the numbers here as a guide and confirm at the counter or in the Oporto app. Spotted something out of date? Email info@oportomenu.au and we will fix it.

The
Insider Menu
Guide

This handbook reads the Oporto menu the way a regular does, from the first North Bondi chicken shop to the late night counter. Eight short chapters cover the chicken and its bastings, the burgers that made the brand famous, the wraps and bowls, the group feeds, the sides and sauces, the breakfast and late night menus, and the habits that save money at the counter.

CHAPTER 01

What makes the Oporto menu different

Oporto started in 1986 as a single chicken shop in North Bondi, Sydney, opened by António Cerqueira. The first sign read Portuguese Style Bondi Charcoal Chicken, and the name Oporto came later, borrowed from his favourite football club, FC Porto. That Portuguese root still shapes the menu. Oporto built its name on chicken cooked flat over the flame and brushed with a chilli basting.

The second difference is the sauce. Original Chilli was the recipe the first shop was known for, made from fresh chilli, lemon, garlic, ginger and canola oil, and it became the backbone of the burger that put the brand on the map. Today the sauce families run from Original Chilli to Prego, Garlic, Mayo and the newer O Sauce, and nearly every item on the menu is defined by which one it carries.

The brand now sits inside Craveable Brands alongside Red Rooster and Chicken Treat, but the menu has kept its own voice. Its slogan is Just Gotta Go, Oporto! The menu itself is broad, with 101 items across 16 categories, yet it keeps returning to the same three ideas: flame grilled chicken, a Portuguese style sauce, and a fresh bun or warm pita to carry both.

How much does food cost on the Oporto menu?

Prices start at $1.50 for a Prego Dipping Sauce. A Bondi Burger costs from $10.00, a Half Chicken $13.50 and a Whole Chicken $20.00. Our figures come from Oporto's public online menu for its Padstow NSW store, and prices can vary by store.

What is the cheapest item at Oporto?

The cheapest item we list is the Prego Dipping Sauce at $1.50. For a proper feed on a budget, a Quarter Chicken at $9.50 or Chips at from $4.50 keep the bill low. The Value Deals category is worth a look too.

How hot are the Oporto bastings?

Oporto bastes its chicken in four flavours. Lemon & Herb is the mild pick, Original Chilli brings the signature heat, New Portuguese BBQ is a barbecue flavour, and Extremo Picante is the hottest. The Spice Level Selector matches one to your heat tolerance.

Does Oporto have a kids menu?

Yes. Kids Meals is one of the 16 categories on the Oporto menu, and every kids item here shows its price, kJ and Calories. Check the allergen notes on each item page before ordering for a child with allergies.

What time does Oporto serve breakfast?

Breakfast items are available until 11am at stores that serve breakfast. Not every Oporto runs a breakfast menu, and our location pages show which stores do. After 11am the main menu takes over.

When does the Oporto Late Night Menu start?

The Late Night Menu starts from 9pm at stores that trade late. It has its own category on this guide, with price, kJ and Calories for each item. Store closing times differ, so check the location page before you head out.

What is the difference between kJ and Calories?

Both measure food energy. Australian food labels use kilojoules, and 1 Calorie equals 4.184 kJ. We list kJ first and Calories second for every item, against an average adult reference intake of 8,700 kJ a day.

Where can I find Oporto allergen information?

Each item page shows allergens copied from Oporto's published allergen chart, marked as present or trace. Oporto kitchens share cooking equipment, so cross contact can happen. Confirm with staff in store before ordering for any serious allergy.

Is OportoMenu.au the official Oporto website?

No. Independent site. Not affiliated with Oporto or Craveable Brands. We rebuild this guide from Oporto's public online menu and store list, and all Oporto trademarks belong to their owners.
