About the Oporto Chicken BLT Burger

Oporto takes the classic bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich and builds it around chicken. Grilled 100% chicken breast fillets go in with sizzling bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato, a slice of cheese and creamy mayonnaise. There is no Single: the smallest size on offer is a Double. Oporto states it can be ordered only via the app or oporto.com.au, so plan to order ahead online rather than at the counter.

Smoky, salty bacon is the main flavour, with tomato and lettuce adding freshness and mayo tying it together. No chilli or signature sauce goes in, so it tastes familiar rather than distinctly Portuguese. The tomato and cheese are shared with the Oprego Burger and the bacon with the Otropo, so the BLT sits between those two in style. Mayo ties the bacon and chicken together, and the cheese adds a soft, salty layer between them. The Triple adds a third fillet for the biggest appetites. Two fillets as the starting point make it a filling order. At from 3,080 kJ, the Double is the highest starting kilojoule figure on the burger list, around 35 percent of the 8,700 kilojoule adult daily reference. Pick it when you are hungry and already ordering through the app.

Bacon fans with a sweet tooth should compare the Otropo Burger, which adds pineapple and comes in a Single. For heat, add an Original Chilli pot, or switch to the Bondi Burger from from $10.00. A Prego pot on the side adds tang if you miss an Oporto signature flavour. The Oprego Burger also keeps tomato and lettuce but swaps bacon for Prego.

Oporto states it can be ordered only via the app or oporto.com.au, so it is not a walk up counter order. Make it a Meal adds from $6 extra, and there is no basting choice. It is not on the Late Night Menu listing.
