Oporto Meal Builder
Pick one main, one side, one sauce and one drink, and the builder adds up both the price and the kilojoules of the meal you just made. A Chicken Rappa at $12.50 with Spicy Rice is a good first test. Every number comes from Oporto's online menu data.

How to use the Meal Builder
Four slots, one meal
The builder follows the way most people order at the counter: a main, something on the side, a sauce and a drink. Separate slots show exactly which choice moves the total. Replace a Bondi Burger at from $10.00 with a Chicken Rappa at $12.50 and the price changes while the kJ falls from from 2,238 kJ to 1,761 kJ. The kJ figure for each slot sits next to its price, so the cost of a swap in both dollars and energy shows at once.
Bigger mains change the picture. The Pulled Chicken Bowl comes in at $16.80 and 2,397 kJ, so it already carries the weight of a full meal before a side joins it.
Flame grilled chicken changes the maths again. A Half Chicken at 2,481 kJ as the main leaves less room for a heavy side than a Quarter Chicken would, and the builder shows that trade in one glance.
Where the side and sauce matter most
Chips and Spicy Rice share the same price, from $4.50 and from $4.50, but Spicy Rice comes in at from 970 kJ against from 1,531 kJ for Chips. Same spend, noticeably lighter meal. That gap is the easiest win in the whole builder. Each sauce slot also shows its price, which at our base store stays the same across the dipping range, so taste decides the pick.
Sauces cost little and get forgotten, yet they still add kilojoules. A creamy sauce adds more than a chilli or herb based one. Leave the sauce slot empty once to see what it contributes, then decide if it earns its place.
Drinks follow the same logic. A soft drink can adds more energy than water or a light iced tea, and over a week of lunches that gap grows. Try the drink slot both ways once and keep the version you are happy with.
Builder tips before you order
Build two or three versions and keep the one that fits your budget and appetite. A Quarter Chicken at $9.50 plus a side gives a lighter plate than most burgers with chips. Save the version you like with a screenshot, then rebuild it in a second at the counter or in the app.
Oporto also sells set meals and boxes. Compare your built meal with the Quarter Chicken Box at $17.00 before ordering, since a set item can work out better than picking parts separately. Prices can vary by store, and the builder uses our base store menu.
Crispy Wings at from $6.50 sit in an odd spot: too small for a main, too big for a side. Add them as an extra in the side slot when two people share a meal and want something crunchy.
Meal Builder FAQs
Still have a question?
Does the meal builder match Oporto's Make it a Meal price?
Not exactly. The builder adds the separate item prices, while Oporto's meal upgrade is a fixed extra on top of a main. Use the builder to compare options, then check the meal upgrade at the counter or in the app.
Which side keeps the kJ lowest?
Among the regular hot sides, Spicy Rice at from 970 kJ comes in under Chips at from 1,531 kJ, for the same price. Salad style sides sit lower again.
Can I skip the drink or sauce?
Yes. Leave any slot empty and the totals only include what you picked. That also shows you exactly how much the sauce or drink was adding.
Where do the prices come from?
They come from Oporto's public online menu for our base store in Padstow NSW. Prices can vary by store, so your local total can differ by a little.
What is a filling main for under the price of a bowl?
The Bondi Burger at from $10.00 and the Quarter Chicken at $9.50 both cost less than the Pulled Chicken Bowl at $16.80. Add a side in the builder to see where each meal lands.
